A majority of the latter are more interested in making a quick buck than actually building world class companies with their passionate entrepreneurs.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00285754702526832949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13502160.post-19471302766582141812011-03-10T11:35:26.168-05:002011-03-10T11:35:26.168-05:00Great article. The guy lives out of a duffel bag and goes around talking to existing and potential customers by making use of air bnb to find places to live in. Known market, documented problem, pre-tested concept, execution challenge, passion optional, and 2) Known or unknown market, personally felt problem, untested (often un-prototyped or even un-thought up) concept, creation and execution challenge, passion essential. It is the piece missing from the puzzle of my own self-belief that I can take the product I have a turn it into a successful company. The furrowed head-shaking I've often encountered from local angels makes sense - they need to read this post and/or i need to portray the full passion i have for "enabling anyone to have a great web presence". They were not getting much traction, but saw the same problem over and over again; B&B owners were having difficulty managing their social media presence. They switch gears and built an awesome dashboard for small business owners to manage their social media presence. Their passion for the product is evident and it has been upwards ever since.Mark Birchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14416012995685304464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13502160.post-1936065403970497212011-03-09T11:09:13.892-05:002011-03-09T11:09:13.892-05:00A very good read, with some strong tangible exampl...A very good read, with some strong tangible examples to highlight your point, thanks. I've been thinking about favorites/likes and how to get people to find new stuff from friends and taste-neighbors for many years. I'm also the most 'OMFG' excited person I know about things... so it'd only be natural for me to be all about favorites.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16548638271469406356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13502160.post-31205010049399689702011-03-09T10:11:10.854-05:002011-03-09T10:11:10.854-05:00Excellent. That passion is another reason entrepreneurs are so bad at working in established businesses where the compelling problems have already been solved.Halley Suitt Tuckerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09652662616738807249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13502160.post-5622021602165831502011-03-09T09:40:08.292-05:002011-03-09T09:40:08.292-05:00Great post and so incredibly true...Great post and so incredibly true...Aaron Kleinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04755355721295824453noreply@blogger.com
